Since time immemorial we have depended on corn for sustenance. Faith is at the basis of our culture and everything is done with this in mind, that nature will provide us with all that we need. The summer monsoons grant all living things a reprieve from the heat and nourish us so that we may continue on this earth. This design represents life for us Hopis (and other indigenous folks) in its simplest form.
