The Journey Is Not Over

Mental Health Awareness & Suicide Prevention.
This design is a collaboration between Dwight Honyouti and Lexie James which serves to bring awareness to an issue that greatly affects Native communities across the country. Sunflowers always face towards the sun, and for James they represent a dark time in her life when she needed to turn towards the light and continue. The semi-colon is a national symbol for Suicide Prevention, so pairing them together is a design meant to bring hope and strength for those suffering and to honor those we have lost.
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month and as this month comes to an end we want to continue advocating for this cause.  Many of our people suffer in silence. We as a community should be open to discussing these issues and reach to out to those individuals who may be in need of help. We want to bring awareness to this issue and begin/continue the difficult conversations that need to be had.  We all matter. You matter. Your Journey Is Not Over.
